7A From Coach Olvera -*

The Seymour Rogers 7th grade basketball A-team had their fifth game of the
year on Monday against Eisenhower. We started off playing very hard running
a good offense and defense against the Warriors. The whole game we stayed
on top of the score. Abraham Ruiz scored the first two points followed by
Alvin Amador scoring two more points with a layup. In the fourth quarter
the Apaches were winning 26-23. With 21 seconds left on the clock, the
Warriors made a three point shot leaving the score 26-26. In overtime, we
kept playing very hard trying to score and win the game. Unfortunately, the
Warriors had more chances to score, leaving the victory to the Warriors
28-34. The whole team has improved a lot and today they showed it by
leaving their sweat and spirit on the floor.

*7B from Coach Shelby -*

The 7B Apaches took on cross town rival, EMS Warriors on Monday. The
Apaches played the Warriors close in the first quarter only trailing 4-2 at
the start of the 2nd quarter. However, the Apaches could not keep up with
the Eisenhower press and ended up losing 33-12. Osvaldo Armendariz and
D’Marcus Denton got their first starts of the year for the Apaches. Orlando
Bernabe led the Apaches in scoring with 5 points.
