Mercy Perez is Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week

Liberal junior long distance runner Mercy Perez is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Perez ran the mile in a personal best 5:31.24 at regionals in Wichita Friday. She will also compete in the 4×800 relay at state with Destyni Lucero, Holly Hinkle, and Kim Francis. They finished third at the regional in 10:16.59. Perez has qualified for state twice in cross country and is a member of NHS. She and her teammates will compete at the state track meet Friday and Saturday at Cessna Stadium in Wichita.
