The Meade Buffaloes have arrived. Two of their last three losses were part of Smith Center’s 79 game winning streak. The Buffs were 11-1 last year and 10-2 during the 2008 season. They’ve had Shrine Bowl players (Tanner Wiens and Trevin Pfanenstiel) the past two years. Scott Moshier is 37-9 entering his fifth year at Meade and has plenty of talent in place to make another run. MHS has seven starters back on both sides of the ball. There are 45 players out for football which outnumbers area 2A schools. Meade has to fill shoes of guys like Pfanenstiel, Dakota Benear, Tyler Reimer, and Jordan Moshier.
Key Buffaloes include: sr. tb/qb/s Kellen Hernandez, sr. fb/lb Jaden Friesen, sr. wr/db Colton Little, sr. lineman Adam Gleason, sr. lineman Balke Wornkey, and so. track star wb/s Trevin Wiens.
The Buffaloes move from the SPIAA League to the Hi Plains League this year. They open at Canadian, Texas who has played for three straight state titles. Moshier will be a guest on the Sportsguys Wednesday morning on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
