Are you smarter than a fifth grader? That was just one station at Cottonwood Intermediate School??s Math Night. On April 12, over 150 students, parents, and teachers gathered in the evening to play math games and have some math fun.
Each grade level had a station, as well as the specialists who set up in the gym. The participants in the gym had to solve math facts in order to shoot baskets. Fourth grade played math games. Fifth grade appropriately had math questions to determine if participants were smarter than a fifth grader. And sixth grade worked together to solve math problems.
Parent involvement is so important to schools. Cottonwood knows they can??t succeed without everyone working together. Students, parents, and the schools need to join together to promote education and help young people achieve to their full potential. Opportunities such as math night are just one way to work together to instill a love of learning and cooperation in our youngsters. Cottonwood thanks the parents for getting involved!
