Marijuana “Grannies” Arrested

KSCB News - May 6, 2011 8:28 am

Prosecutors are calling two pot suspects the "marijuana grannies."

Authorities charge 72-year-old Aleen Lam and 65-year-old Virginia Chan Pon had 800 pot plants growing in their Redwood City California home. Police went to the house after neighbors reported a break-in.

The women weren’t home at the time. Authorities say police found that the front door had been kicked in and saw hundreds of pot plants growing inside. Lam and Pon have pleaded innocent to suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and other charges.
