Liberal junior baseball player Marco Alonso is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week. Alonso plays first base and pitcher for the Redskins. He is a second year varsity player. Alonso leads the Redskin offense batting .421 with seven doubles, one triple, and 11 RBI’s. Alonso went 3-4 with a triple, two doubles, and four RBI’s in a 14-1 win at Garden City on Tuesday night. Alonso also plays football and is in powerlifting. The 3-6 Redskins play a double header at 10-15 Woodward on Friday at 4pm. The next home game is Tuesday night at 6pm vs. Garden City.
