It was a busy weekend for Liberal Wrestling Club. The older kids traveled to Amarillo on
Saturday while the younger wrestlers went to Dodge City on Sunday. Both groups represented Liberal very well.
“Texas has some very tough competition and we showed up and each wrestler placed in
the top 4! Their age divisions are also different than what we have in Kansas and most of our kids have to wrestle kids older than they are used to wrestling. Looking at statistics is always a fun aspect for me. Elias got the most pins in the least amount of time for division 4, while Lill got
the second most pins in the least amount of time,” coach Krista Holcomb said.
Results are as follows:
Div. 3:
Ian Holcomb, 3rd
Div. 4:
Lill Osborn, 1st, 3 pins
Elias Holcomb, 4th, 3 pins
Marco Jimenez, 3rd, 1 pin
Dominique Soto, 2nd, 1 pin
Iovani Chavez, 1st, 1 tech fall and 1 pin
Esteban Gomez, 1st
“There was a lot of good competition today. Got lots of wrestling matches in and
everyone improved throughout the day. Had a few close ones,” coach Jesus Lopez said about the competition in Dodge City.
Results are as follows:
6U:
Easton Lopez, 3rd, 3 pins
Kendall Mosttler, 1st, 3 pins
Azriel Rosas, 1 pin
Ethan Zabel, 1 pin
8U:
Kendall Mosttler, 5th
