He didn’t know what hit him. After sweeping Dodge City Tuesday night in the Green House, Seward Athletic Director Galen McSpadden made his way to the court for a special presentation. Bert Luallen passed legendary former Saints coach Pat Stangle for most wins at Seward volleyball coach. Luallen registered his 226th win as Seward beat struggling Dodge City (25-11, 25-21, 25-17). The Saints decorated the Green House with pink signs to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

The Saints are 19-13 overall and 9-4 in the Jayhawk West while Dodge City is 4-26 and 1-12. They have already fired their coach this season. Liberal’s Cynthia Cisneros is on the DC3 team but is injured.

Seward plays their final conference game at Pratt Thursday night. Their next home match is Tuesday against Otero.
