Liberal, Kansas – This past week marked the start of Jayhawk conference action for the Lady Saints where Lisa Gomez‘s defense was a huge spark for Seward County as the primary Libero and earned KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her SCCC career.
Gomez played in all seven sets for the Lady Saints through two matches that put Seward County against Hutchinson and Cloud County to kick off their conference schedule. In three sets against the Blue Dragons, Gomez recorded a total of 18 digs and a few days later added 24 more in a four-set win over the T-Birds for an average of 6.00 digs per set through all seven sets.
Gomez will be back on the floor later tonight to keep the Lady Saints in the win column as Seward County faces the Butler Grizzlies in a 6:00 PM match inside of the Green House.
