The storms that rolled through the area last night caused a stucture fire in Guymon. Guymon Firefighters were dispatched last night at around 9:30pm to the Guymon Home Healthcare Office in the Northridge Circle on the reports of the building being fully engulfed in flames. According to Travis Ruiz of the Guymon Daily Herald, who was on the scene, high winds were causing the blaze to go almost out of control. Fire fighters were on the scene with District #2 water trucks, and closed Highway 64 for nearly 3 blocks around the blaze. Witnesses at the scene say the saw the lightning strikes while others said they could “feel” the lightning. No one was injured in the fire, but Guymon EMS was on the scene to assist with any possible injuries to the firefighters. The blaze was still flying high at last reports at 12:30am this morning, we will have more on this stucture fire as it becomes available.
