LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College is excited to announce that Head Coach Jaime Beltran has signed the first soccer student-athlete in program history, Emmanuel Ortuño. Ortuño is a senior at Liberal High School and was a captain last fall for the Redskins.

Ortuño is the first player signed to Seward County to participate in soccer, as the program already reaches out to the local community. In his junior and senior seasons, Emmanuel, also known as Manny, was named to the First Team All-Confrence WAC team and made the 6A All-State Honorable Mention team.

The Liberal Redskins finished the season with an 8-9 overall record and finished WAC play with a 5-3 record.

Seward County’s Beltran has broke ground and is ready to assemble the rest of his team for the Fall 2023 season. The Saints will start their first season in program history on August 23rd against Kansas City Kansas Community College at Redskin Field. Ortuño will call Redskin field his home field once again as Seward County will hold its home games at Liberal High School.

This is just the beginning for Seward county men’s soccer, and stay tuned for the rest of the off-season news here at SewardSaints.com and on social media at SewardSaints.
