Liberal’s Davis Bears Down in Missouri
KSCB News - December 28, 2011 4:54 pm
Nate Davis loves the Liberal Redskins. He loves Liberal so much that when two of his former Redskin football coaches Tom Schroeder and Jeff Brown found him in Fayetteville, Arkansas before his first game for FCS Missouri State, Davis was brought to tears. The junior linebacker went on to play his first season for the Bears and didn’t disappoint. By the end of the season, Davis started the last two games. He registered 44 tackles, four for loss, and two sacks for a two win Missouri State team.
Davis graduated from Liberal High School in 2009 after a standout football, wrestling, and track career. Davis played two years at Garden City Community College before signing with former KU coach Terry Allen at MSU in Springfield. Davis hopes to hold his starting linebacker position for his senior season. He currently weights 213 pounds and hopes to weigh up to 225 pounds before next season. He and the Bears played games at Arkansas and at Oregon this fall. The Bears play at Kansas State next season.
