Liberal Wrestling Club attended Pratt Ground & Pound tournament in Pratt, KS
on Saturday, December 9. The club took 22 young wrestlers to this tournament. Out of
the 22, 16 members placed with five of those earning 1st place.

First place: Isaac Armendariz, 8U; Matheo Ortiz, 8U; Dominic Zuniga, 8U; Aiden
Montoya, 8U; Juan Mata, 10U.

Second place: Jacob Perez, 8U; Jonathan Barragan, 14U

Third place: Lucas Montoya, 6U; Victor Zuniga, 6U; Lorelai McKim, 6U girls;
Sofia Torres, 10U girls.

Fourth place: Ian Holcomb, 10U; Elias Holcomb, 12U; Landon Flores, 12U;
Iovani Chavez, 12U

Fifth place: Baxter Williams, 6U

Others wrestlers in attendance were Alyvia Holcomb, Ethan Macias, Erick Ortiz,
Julian Gonzalez, Jaden Allen, and Chevy-Lee Allen.

“We are so proud of these wrestlers and the work they have put in. Wrestling is a
challenging sport as it is just you and your opponent on the mat. These kids were brave
to go out and give this a shot! We have some work to do but this tournament helped the
kids see where they were at and what they are needing to work on for future
tournaments,” Krista Holcomb said.

The next tournament will be Saturday, December 16 in Great Bend, KS.
