Seward County Athletic Director Galen McSpadden has announced that former Saintsation dancer Brianna Ruiz has been named the team’s new Head Coach for the 2014-2015 season. Ruiz was born and raised in Liberal and danced for the Saintsations from 2009-2010. She comes from a competitive, as well as professional dance background and has been dancing for almost 20 years. Ruiz spent 12 years competing with the Dance Images dance troupe in Liberal in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and lyrical. Outside of competitive dance, she danced professionally for The Wichita Wild, an indoor professional football team in Wichita for two seasons. She attended Seward County before furthering her education in business, and a minor in dance education at Wichita State University. She sparked her love of teaching and coaching when she started teaching solos for Dance Images, and choreographing routines for college classes and for The Wichita WildThings. Ruiz moved back to Liberal in the fall of 2012, and became the Assistant Dance Coach for Liberal High School in 2013. She lives in Liberal with her husband Carlos, and her 1 year old daughter Hailey Grace.

McSpadden said of Ruiz’s hiring " we are really looking forward to having Brianna back on board with us. She did a great job not only as a member of the dance team but also as a student-worker in the athletic office while she was here. With her experience of coaching and dancing at the professional level, we look for her to elevate our Saintsations to another level."
