On March 26, 2022 at 3:49pm Officers of the Liberal Police Department responded to a call for a two car Injury – Accident at the intersection of 8th St. and Kansas Ave. Officers made contact with several witnesses who stated a 2005 red Jeep Grand Cherokee was at the stop sign traveling east through the intersection when it was struck in the passenger side front and rear doors ejecting a minor child out of the rear passenger side window. The Jeep was struck by a 2018 white Chevrolet Silverado traveling north on Kansas Ave.

All individuals involved were transported to Southwest Medical Center via EMS.
The driver of the Jeep was cited for running a stop sign, no proof of insurance and driving w/o a license.
