On Thursday, March 06, 2014 at about 3:08 a.m., officers responded to the unit block of East 8th Street for a report of a battery. Witnesses told responding officers a man entered their apartment without permission and attempted to steal property.

One of the residents was battered by the suspect. The resident sustained minor injuries which did not require treatment.

Investigating officers located the suspect in the immediate area. A twenty five year old male was taken into custody without incident. Property stolen from the apartment was recovered at the time of the arrest.

An affidavit will be forwarded to the Seward County Attorney for filing of formal charges.
