Starting on March 5, 2012 and ending on March 16, 2012, the Liberal Police Department will join other Kansas Law Enforcement Agencies in a state wide campaign to educate teen drivers about the dangers of driving without a seatbelt. To accomplish this goal, officers of the Liberal Police Department will be taking special enforcement actions in and around school zones while participating in this educational campaign.

In 2010, 51 teens lost their lives due to car crashes in Kansas; 75% of the teenagers killed were not wearing their seatbelt. In an effort to prevent more teenage deaths, the Liberal Police Department would like to remind everyone to slow down, put the phone away and always remember to buckle up.
