Liberal Police Department Investigate Fentanyl in the Community

The Liberal Police Department has issued a public safety notice that fentanyl has been located in the community. Law Enforcement is aware that fentanyl is being mixed with a multitude of other drugs to include Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Xylazine, and the manufacture of counterfeit prescription drugs that are packaged to mimic the original drug.

On Monday, December 11th, Officers executed a search warrant in the 700 block of East Spruce Street in reference to an ongoing death investigation. During the search warrant, Officers located approximately 2 pounds of fentanyl, fentanyl test strips, ledgers, baggies and scales.

A lethal dose of fentanyl is considered to be 2mg. The amount of fentanyl seized would have the potential to provide 500,000 fentanyl doses.
