During the Click It or Ticket Campaign just completed, the Liberal Police Department conducted overtime saturation patrols to aggressively enforce Kansas occupant restraint, texting, impaired driving, and other traffic laws. During the campaign, officers wrote 126 safety belt citations, 17 child restraint citations, 4 speeding citations, 1 texting while driving citation, and 27 other citations and arrests, including 1 DUI arrest. 156 vehicle stops were made during the campaign, of which 28 were conducted at night. Ten occupant restraint tickets were written during night patrols.
