The Liberal girls won two of their three games at the 67th Tonganoxie Invitational this weekend.  The Lady Redskins upended the Tonganoxie Lady Chieftains 63-54 Saturday morning at Chieftain Arena in Tonganoxie.  Shamari Lewis had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals in the win.  She was Epic Touch Player of the Game.

Liberal jumped out to a 10-6 lead.  The Chieftains led 18-15 after one and took a 27-15 second quarter lead before settling for a 32-26 lead over visiting Liberal at halftime.  Liberal owned the third quarter outscoring Tongie 24-9.  Liberal led 48-38 in the third and led 50-41 after three.  Liberal’s biggest lead was 12.

Shamari Lewis was named to the all tournament team.  Kylie Rhine scored 12.  Maliyah Mullins had nine points and eight rebounds.  Kamilah Delgado scored eight.

Tonganoxie is 7-5 and Liberal is 8-5.  LHS hosts Woodward for homecoming Friday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
