Liberal Girls Roll for 9th Straight Opening Win

The Liberal girls opened their season with a ninth straight opening win Friday night in the Big House.  Liberal beat Ulysses 54-16.  The Lady Red harassed the Lady Tigers into 33 turnovers and held UHS to just seven made field goals all night.

The Lady Redskins led 9-3 after one quarter and used a 23-7 second quarter to lead 32-10 at the half.  LHS led 44-16 after three and there was a running clock during much of the fourth quarter.  Hailey Contreras scored 15 points and grabbed eight steals to lead Liberal.  Kamilah Delgado scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebound to be Epic Touch Player of the Game.  Zoey Torres had 10 points.  Shamari Lewis grabbed eight rebounds.

Liberal shot 38 percent made 3-17 three pointers while going 11-19 at the foul line.  Ulysses was 1-12 from the charity stripe and 1-11 from 3.

Liberal plays at Valley Center Tuesday night at 5pm with Redskin Pre-game at 4:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
