Liberal Girls Hold Off Hugoton

The Liberal Lady Redskins wrapped up the fall semester with a 53-44 win at Hugoton Tuesday night.  The #4 Lady Red is 5-0 into the Christmas break after a game in which they never trailed.

LHS led 8-3 and 15-6 and led 15-8 after one quarter.  LHS led 26-20 at the half as both teams defenses led the way.  Lizzy Cisneros hit a left wing three pointer to give the Lady Red a 40-30 lead after three quarters.  LHS led 43-30 with 7:13 to play and led 51-37 on the way to the win.

Liberal shot 46 percent from the field and were 15-23 at the foul line.  Hugoton shot 36 percent from the field and 9-14 at the free throw line.  Liberal was 2-12 from three point range and Hugoton was 5-19 from distance.

Keyona Hall was the Epic Touch Player of the game with 15 points.  Hailey Contreras scored 12.  Hallie West had eight points.  Shamari Lewis scored seven and pulled down six rebounds.  For Hugoton, Gianna Vos had 19 and Summya Adigun scored 17.

Liberal wins their fourth straight at Hugoton and improves to 5-0 and Hugoton is 3-3.  Liberal hosts Hays January 6 at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.  Hugoton hosts Scott City January 6.
