Liberal Girls Blank Hays

The Liberal girls soccer team is 1-1 in the WAC after a 1-0 win at Hays Thursday afternoon.  Sophomore Sabrina Pacheco and Kim Alarcon combined for the goal 15 minutes in to the second half.  Alarcon dished it out to the outside where Pacheco received it and put in a left footed volley that hit the goalie’s left post and in.  Hays led shots on goal 7-5.  Reyna Gonzalez had seven saves.  LHS was called for off-sides seven times and Hays was called for off-sides once.  LHS head coach Carlos Ruiz says it was a hard fought win.  “The game was physical and stayed intense for the whole 80 minutes.”

Liberal is 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at Garden City on Monday.
