Liberal Dominant in Scott City Sweep

Liberal was dominant against struggling Scott City Tuesday at the Liberal baseball complex. The Redskins won 15-1 in five innings and 8-0 over the winless Beavers. Scott City certainly helped Liberal’s cause with 17 errors on the day. But LHS did their part defensively and did not have an error while their pitching was outstanding.
In game one, the Redskins scored six in the first, six in the second, one in the third, and two in the fourth. Collin Ware pitched the distance in the five inning game with six strikeouts and two hits. Tim Fitzgerald was 2-3 with three RBI’s and Cristian Erives was 2-3 with two RBI’s. LHS had five hits but the Beavers had 10 errors in the five inning game.
In game two, Jared Hasik struck out 15 in the seven inning win Hasik added a double and Erives added a two bagger. LHS only had four hits but seven Scott City errors helped the cause. LHS scored two in the first, two in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fiftth, and one in the sixth.
The game was played on the southwest field at the Liberal Baseball Complex so the wind was blowing in. The usual varsity field was too wet due to snow on Monday. LHS is 6-4 and Scott City is 0-8. The Redskins host the Guymon Tigers Monday at 4.
