The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. This was the first meeting since Commissioner Carliles untimely death, Friday, January the 6th. Among the items on the agenda, Commissioners approved several vehicle and environmental abatements at mobile home parks throughout the city, and accepted the donation of a pipeline from Anadarko that runs from around the Waste Water treatment Plant to approximately Woods Kansas. This pipeline is a 10 inch line and will be useful to help meet KDHE requirement when the City replaces the existing Waste Water Treatment Plant. The line will carry treated water for use in agriculture. The Commission also approved the purchase of a new pump for the WWTP in the amount of $15,320.00 and appointed Roger Crossman to the Joint Economic Development Council Board. The commission will all be in attendance for Commissioner Carliles funeral on Thursday at 1:00pm with the next regular meeting scheduled for January 24th.
