Liberal City Commission Meets

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30pm at the City Commission chambers. On the agenda, the commissioners approved the vacation of a utility easement between Lots 41 and 42 of the Harold Court addition. The commission also approved the purchase of a copy machine for the Convention and Visitors Bureau from Southern Office Supply in the amount of $6,975.00. Commissioners also appointed Chuck Lamberson to the Convention and Visitors Bureau board to fill the Oil and Gas vacancy on that board. Commissioners also approved the purchase of a golf cart fleet for Willow Tree Golf Course from EZ Go in the amount of $68,991.00 as long as the carts are 2010 models, and gave Darrell Kennedy the OK to purchase a greens aerator which will be shared with the Liberal Country Club. The purchase price of $16,560.00 will be shared by both entities. The Liberal Fire Department also received permission to purchase 6 Motorola pagers from G & G Electronics of Guymon for $2,556.00. The lLberal Police Department was approved to purchase a pick up for Animal Control from Foss Motor Company for $16,350.00, and was asked to go back to Foss Motor Company to see if the would adjust their bid for Police Fleet Line and Civilian cars. There were only a few hundred dollars separating the Foss bid from the Shawnee Mission Ford bid. It was the commissions desire to purchase local. In other action, Layne-Western received the bid award for the Arkalon Well #104 project in the amount of $207,312.00. The next regular meeting of the Liberal City Commission is scheduled for August 11, 2009.
