After winning the Colby Orange and Black Classic six times (1986, 1989, 1993, 1998, 2005, and 2009) the Liberal Redskins had to settle for seventh in 2013. The Skins routed class 2A Burlington, Colorado 64-39 Saturday afternoon in the Colby Community Building. The Redskins were better at the free throw line going 7-12 after a 3-19 outing the night before in a loss to Hugoton.

Trenton Hammond scored a career high 20 points and Blake Stout hit four three pointers in route to a 13 point game. William Ross, who earlier in the day participated in the three point competition, scored 10.

Liberal won despite 17 turnovers. The Skins limp to 3-9 while the Cougars are 2-11.

Liberal plays at Scott City Friday night at about 8 p.m. on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
