Goddard dominated the tennis regionals taking 1st Place teams honors with 19 points. Winfield and Bishop Carroll tied for 2nd Place with 11 points at a 5A regional tennis tournament hosted by Kapaun at Wichita State.
Individual Results:
Singles Player–Joseph Cotto battled Derek Drew from Wichita West in a match much closer than the score indicates 6-2, 6-1.
Doubles Team–Adrian Amado & Cristiano Cappizzi took it to Goddard Eisenhower’s Freisen/Buller actually winning 4-3 at one point. They eventually lost 6-4, 6-0 but gained much respect from the tournament observers.
Doubles Team–Alan Gayten & Angel Hernandez struggled against Goddard’s Gerken/Pierret losing 6-0, 6-0.
