The path to a Western Athletic Conference baseball title just became a lot more difficult. Playing a Garden City team who had limped in to town with a 4-12 record and an 0-6 WAC record, Liberal lost game one 7-4 before claiming game two 9-1.

But Garden City rallied with two in the fourth, two in the fifth, and Liberal scored one in the fifth to tie it 4-4. Garden City scored three in the seventh to lead 7-4. The Buffaloes out-hit the Redskins 9-8 and LHS was sloppy on defense with three errors. Kaiden Bigham pitched four innings allowing two earned runs. Cristian Erives was 2-3 with two doubles and Sylman Pando was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Kaiden Long and Jared Hasik added RBI hits.
In game two, Jared Hasik pitched the distance for the win. He struck out seven and allowed five hits. Liberal plated single runs in the second and third after the Buffaloes scored in the first. LHS blew the game wide open when they scored seven in the fifth. Junior Garcia was 1-2 with two RBI’s. Both teams had five hits and two errors.
