LHS Senior Receives National Merit Commendation

Katrin Flores, a senior at Liberal High School, has been honored as a Commended Scholar in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation Program. Of the approximately 1.3 million program entrants, Flores is one of 3,400 students to receive the recognition.

In recognition of their outstanding ability and potential for academic success in college, NMSC will honor these students by sending them Letters of Commendation through their high schools. Although Commended Students will not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some may be candidates for Special Scholarships offered by corporate sponsors.

LHS Principal Ashley Kapplemann praised Flores for her accomplishment, “We are very excited that LHS Senior Katrin Flores was named a Commended Scholar through the National Merit Scholarship Program. ” She has made her school and her community very proud.
