Liberal High School’s entrepreneur students have worked hard to prepare for Market Day, which was
held on Wednesday, November 20.
Market Day is made possible through Empowered, which provides students with the funding and
support necessary to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. During this event, students develop and
run small businesses, selling the products that they create.
The profits earned go directly to the students after they repay the loan received from Empowered.
This allows them to experience the full cycle of entrepreneurship—from ideation to execution and
financial management. It’s a hands-on learning opportunity that empowers students to develop
real-world skills and build confidence in their business capabilities.
Instructor Elizabeth Thompson said, “We are incredibly grateful to our school administration and
janitorial staff, whose support and hard work ensure that this event runs smoothly. Their dedication
allows us to create a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for our students and guests!”
Thompson added, “We truly appreciate all the support we receive from our staff members and
community. “
