LHS Golfers Stuggle in Garden City

The LHS girls golf team went to the Garden City Invitational at Buffalo Dunes on Monday and head coach Kody Thexton says the day was a struggle.

"We were very unfortunate in the scoring today. Our best score was Jamie Brond with a 107, which is not a bad score at all for the 18 hole event, it was a personal best for that matter but our best sometimes isn’t enough. Evan Sumner carded a 111 who struggled most of the day, i was happy she didn’t give up and kept grinding. Riley Jones carded a 123, she was having some problems going straight but toughed it out for her score. Rounding out the scoring was Courtney Widener with a 151.
This is a tough course in itself, but when we throw in some inexperience it get more difficult. Evan was very disappointing with her score but she is a competitor and will come back strong from this."

Abbi Shaddik from Garden city won the event with a 78 and Garden won the tournament with a 365.
Next tournament will be Sept 20th at Willow tree in Liberal.
