LHS Girls Turn Tables

After taking two on the chin against Garden City Tuesday, the LHS softball team turned fared better against the Buffaloes Thursday. This time is was the Wichita Southeast Buffaloes, a far cry from the Garden City Buffaloes who won 19 games last year. Liberal run ruled the Southeast Buffaloes 15-0 in four innings and 13-1 in five innings.
In game one, Ramey Petty pitched a three hit shutout. Emily Bayouth hit a home run and was 2-3. Jai Chapman added two hits including a triple. Riley Hay and Caity Hinnergardt added two hits a piece. Petty drove home three runs.
In game two, Jaycee Darroch pitched a two hitter. Hays and Desirae Courkamp both collected three hits. Bayouth was again 2-3. Liberal’s lone senior Ashton Cummins started and was 2-2. The Redskins improve to 5-7 after winning just three last year. Southeast is 3-9.
Liberal plays at Garden City Tuesday.
