LHS Girls Send 8 to State

The LHS girls wrestling team competed at a 6A regional at Wichita West on Saturday morning and afternoon. They qualify eight for state. Thursday athletes make state:  Keirsie Carlile (2nd), Genesis Orrantia (4th), Isabela Gutierrez (3rd), Georgina Dominguez (8th), Nicole Catalan (8th), Evelyn Sandoval (4th), Hayleen Martinez (1st), and Aileen Figueroa (3rd) will all advance to state.

JV results at Colby
Liberal High School had mixed results at the 2025 Bill Voss Novice (Colby JV) tournament. Gustavo Sosa excelled, placing 1st in the 126A weight class and earning 18 team points with four victories by fall. Manuel Rodriguez (190A) and Julian Adame (215) placed 4th, scoring 11 and 9 points, respectively. Eric Duque (165) also placed 4th with 9 points. Carter Rhine (106A), David Conde (144A), Tomas Nas (150A), Jesus Gutierrez (175A), and Alan Padilla (175B) struggled, finishing 5th or 6th. Jose Bautista (190) placed 6th with 3 points, while Alexis Galindo (150B) and Oskar Rosales (215) also had limited success.
