Liberal’s wrestling boys and girls open the wrestling season Tuesday night in the Big House against Hugoton. Liberal has 41 boys out for wrestling and 25 girls. The LHS girls are ranked 5th in the state in 6A.
The girls are led by Hayleen Martinez who is ranked number one at 190 after she won state as a junior. Sophomore Aileen Figueroa is number one at 235. Isabela Gutierrez is number two at 105 pounds after taking 5th at state. Alexa Valenzuela is number four at 130 and Keirsie Carlile is number five at 100 pounds after placing fourth at state last season. Here is the current varsity lineup
