LHS Girls Golf Shut Out of State

The Liberal girls golf team ended their season Monday at Braeburn Country Club in Wichita. This was a very tough regional at a difficult course and a windy day. Head coach Kody ‘Thexton says competition was stiff.
"The completion was very good today but also made our chances of advancing to state more difficult." The last score to qualify for state was a 101 and Evan
Sumner carded a 104 narrowly missing a 4th trip to state. Thexton says he feels for his number one player.
"I felt so bad for her, she never gave up today and kept pressing when things were not going her way." Jamie Brond finished her career with a 115 and junior Riley Jones carded a 122. Thexton says this was a good group with which to work.
I am proud of my girls even though we didn’t reach our goal. It is going to be tough to replace two kids like Evan and Jamie, they will be missed."
Kapaun won regional, Carroll took 2nd.
