LHS Girls Golf Places Third at Great Bend

The Liberal girls golf team took third at Great Bend Tuesday.  Liberal shot a 195 trailing only Garden City’s 191 and Hays with 193.  Great Bend shot a 198 and Dodge City a 212.  Liberal’s Corey Mein was second with a 42 and Sara Bayouth was eighth.  Mein and Bayouth both make the all WAC team.  Liberal hosts the regional on Monday at Willow Tree with Arkansas City, Goddard, Goddard-Eisenhower, Great Bend, Liberal, Maize, and Wichita-Bishop Carroll.

Tuesday the Lady Skins golf traveled to Great Bend for the final WAC
tournament of the year. The team carded a 195 placing 3rd just behind
Garden City (191) and Hays (193). Corey Mein had her best finish of the
year placing 2nd shooting a 42. Sarah Bayouth ended up in a 4-way tie for 6
th, but after the score card tie breaker placed 8th turning in a 47.
Kaitlyn Kirk was once again our consistent third score with a 51. After
awards for the tournament we handed out WAC awards. Liberal finished 3rd in
WAC and Corey Mein (2nd) and Sarah Bayouth (5th) made 1st team all WAC.
Next up the ladies compete at regionals Monday at Willow Tree starting at
8am.
