LHS Girls Gain First WAC Win in Hays

The Liberal girls soccer team won their first WAC game Thursday afternoon in Hays. After two double overtime losses to Hays in consecutive seasons, the girls came through with a 1-0 win. It was scoreless at the half as LHS was playing against the north wind. Liberal used the wind to their advantage in the second half. Kelly Ramirez found Carolina Limon scored as the Hays keeper came out and Limon snuck the ball into the net at the 35:41 makr of the second half. Goalie Reyna Gonzalez gets her first shutout with two saves. LHS is 3-5 and 1-2 in the WAC. Hays is 1-5 and 0-2 in the WAC. The LHS JV also won 1-0.

Liberal is 3-5 and 1-2 in the WAC. LHS plays Monday at Garden City.
