Liberal played a good first quarter, but that was it. LHS and the Dodge City Lady Demons were in a tight game after one quarter with DCHS leading 8-5. Liberal tied the game at 8-8 after a Megan Besecker three pointer. Dodge City would lead 11-9 before a demoralizing 30-0 and 33-1 run. They used a running clock in the fourth quarter.

Freshman Megan Besecker was a bright spot scoring a career high 14. Dodge City’s Brenna Briggs scored 27 and became the school’s all time leading scorer in girls basketball.

The Lady Redskins finish the regular season 3-17 overall and 0-8 in the WAC. The Lady Demons are 12-8 and 5-3 in the WAC.

Liberal will travel to Hays to play the 16-4 WAC champion Lady Indians on Thursday on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net. Hays beat Liberal 64-33 February 10 in the Big House and 59-28 January 6 in Hays.
