The Seward Lady Saints have matched last year’s win total. Last year, Seward was 17-15 overall and 12-12 in the Jayhawk. After a 73-59 win over the Fort Hays Tech Lady Tigers in Max Jones Fieldhouse in Goodland on Saturday night, Seward is 17-8 overall and 12-7 in the Jayhawk.
It was a topsy turvy night for Seward. The Lady Saints led 18-12 after one quarter. The Lady Tigers out scored Seward 9-8 in the second quarter as the Lady Saints led 26-21 at the half. The Lady Saints took hold of the game in the third quarter out pacing Tech 35-13. Fort Hays Tech out scored Seward’s backups 25-12 in the fourth quarter. Seward’s biggest lead was 28.
Seward shot 40 percent from the filed and made 7-15 from three point range. Seward was 12-20 at the foul line. Tech shot 33 percent making 9-26 from three and 6-6 at the foul line. Seward committed 17 turnovers and Tech had 16. Seward out-rebound Fort Hays Tech 42-28.
Kylee Hunt was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 13 points. Avery Marchino scored 10. Ari Gordon and Allie Myers chipped in nine a piece.
Fort Hays Tech is 1-22 overall and 1-18 in the KJCCC. Seward has won three in a row and stands at 17-8 overall and 12-7 in the Jayhawk. Seward hosts Colby Wednesday night at 6pm with Saints Shoot-around at 5:45 on 107.5. Southern Pioneer Electric is the buyout sponsor.
