The Seward Lady Saints have not lost a basketball game to Dodge City since 2006.  That streak lived on Saturday afternoon in the Dodge City Activity Center as Seward held off the Lady Conqs 69-62.

This game was tied 11-11 after one quarter.  The Lady Conquistadors took a 15-11 lead early in the second quarter before the Lady Saints reeled in a 12-0 run to lead 23-15.  SCCC claimed another eight point lead at 35-27 right before half.  Seward led at the half 35-29.  Seward led 40-31 early in the third before DCCC rallied to make it 40-39.  Seward finished the quarter strongly and led 53-39 with thirty seconds left in the third and led 53-43 after three quarters.  Seward led 60-47 and led 68-52 with 4:33 to play before limping to the finish line and a 69-62 win.

Seward won despite shooting 37 percent and committing 23 turnovers.  Seward’s defense stepped up when needed taking about 10 charges in the game.

Zayla Tinner had 18 points in the win.
