Lady Saints Ice Cold at Cloud

Seward shot 12 percent in the first half and 19 in the game on the way to a 57-53 KJCCC opening loss at Cloud Wednesday night at Bryant Gymnasium in Concordia.  Seward has dropped three straight in Concordia.

Both teams struggled offensively most the night .  The Lady T-Birds led 8-4 after one quarter and 24-18 at halftime.  Seward cut the lead to 26-25 but trailed the Lady T-Birds 44-38 after three.  Cloud’s lead ballooned to nine at 49-40 but an SCCC 9-0 run made it 49-47 with 4:55 to play.  A Biyannah Ellis right wing three tied the game a 53-53 with 37.5 second left.  Cloud’s TiAna Davis streaked down the left lane for a lay up with 16.7 seconds left to make it 55-53.

Seward was 12-61 from the field for 19.7 percent and 6-23 from three.  Seward stayed in the game at the foul line making 23-32.  Cloud shot 35 percent and 4-16 from three with  a 17-23 night at the free throw line.  Seward out-rebounded Cloud 45-37.  SCCC committed 22 turnovers and Cloud had 25 turnovers.

Kylee Hunt was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 17 points.  Allie Myers had 10 points, eight rebounds, and six steals.

Cloud is 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the KJCCC.  Seward is 4-2 and 0-1.  Seward plays at Cowley Saturday afternoon at 1pm with pre-game at 12:45 on 107.5.
