Lady Saints Clobber Colby

The Seward Lady Saints handed the Colby Lady Trojans their 18th straight loss Thursday night.  Seward beat Colby 92-50 in the Green House.  The Lady Saints win their 35th in a row in the series.

Colby kept it close early playing without their head coach James Cole.  SCCC led 22-15 after one quarter.  Seward led 42-21 at halftime as Seward outscored Colby 20-6 in the second quarter.  Seward led 51-29 and led 69-40 at the end of three.  Seward led by as many at 44.

Seward forced 23 Colby turnovers.  Seward out rebounded Colby 57-48.  Seward shot 39 percent and made 15-40 from three and 13-23 at the free throw line.  Colby shot 27 percent making 2-18 from three and 10-13 at the foul line.

De’Shawnti Thomas registered her fourth 20 plus scoring game with 21 points and nine rebounds.  She has scored 20 or more in three of the last four games.  Halima Salat and Alianna Colon scored 12 a piece.  Tiana Winn had 11 points and five rebounds.  Keanna Coburn scored 10.

Seward is 11-10 overall and 9-6 in the Jayhawk Conference.  Colby is 1-18 overall and 0-14 in the KJCCC.  Seward plays at first place and #12 Dodge City Saturday afternoon at 1pm with Saints Shoot-around at 12:45 on 107.5.
