Lady Saints Clobber Cloud

The Seward Lady Saints put it all together in a convincing 68-41 win over the visiting Cloud Lady T-Birds Wednesday night in the Green House.  Seward moves into 5th place in the Jayhawk Conference with the win.

After losing at Cloud November 20, SCCC led 16-11 after one quarter Wednesday night.  They led 30-11 before taking a 32-16 lead at the half.  Cloud made a third quarter run outscoring Seward 16-10 in that quarter.  The Lady T-Birds cut the Seward lead to 35-27 with 4:02 to play in the third after Seward coach Will Marchino pulled all of his starters due to sluggish play to begin the second half.  And did they ever respond.  Seward blistered Cloud 26-9 in the fourth quarter and led by as many as 28.

Seward shot 45 percent from the field making 3-9 three pointers and 17-20 at the free throw line.  Seward is the top free throw shooting team in the Jayhawk.  Seward harassed Cloud into 22 turnovers and 27 percent shooting.  Cloud was 5-23 from three and 10-15 at the foul line.  Seward led points in the paint 34-14.

Avery Marchino’s game continued to blossom with 18 points and seven rebounds.  She was Epic Touch Player of the Game.  Kylee Hunt had 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Allie Meyers had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Cloud falls to 12-6 overall and 7-6 in the KJCCC.  Seward is 13-6 overall and 8-5 in the Jayhawk.  Seward is 9-1 at home.  The Lady Saints host Cowley Saturday at 2pm with Saints Shoot-around at 1:45 on 107.5.  Community Bank is the buyout sponsor.
