The six game win streak is over.  The undefeated February is over.  That’s what happened when the Seward Lady Saints faced the #18 Coffeyville Lady Ravens on the road in Coffeyville Wednesday night  The Lady Ravens held down the Lady Saints 57-47 in Nellis Hall.

Coffeyville jumped on Seward early for a 9-2 lead before Seward bounced back and trailed 13-10 after one.  Coffeyville out scored SCCC 19-8 in the second quarter.  It was 32-18 Coffeyville at the half.  Seward actually out scored CCC 29-25 in the second half.

Coffeyville bullied Seward on the board 48-27.  Seward forced 17 Coffeyville turnovers and committed 11 turnovers.  The Lady Saints shot 32 percent making 5-17 three pointers and had an uncharacteristically bad free throw shooting night (8-15).  Seward leads the KJCCC in free throw shooting a 75 percent.  The Ravens shot 42 percent while making 4-12 from three and 5-7 at the foul line.

Kylee Hunt led Seward with 12.  RaMya Kennedy scored nine.  Ari Gordon was Epic Touch Player of the Game with eight points and seven steals.

Coffeyville is 23-4 overall and 18-4 in the Jayhawk.  Seward is 19-9 overall and 14-8 in the Jayhawk.  Seward hosts homecoming Saturday at 2pm with Hutchinson.  Saints Shoot-around at 1:45 on 107.5.  Billy’s Ayr Lanes is the game sponsor.
