The Coffeyville Lady Ravens blazed the nets at 52 percent shooting on the way to beating the Seward Lady Saints 75-63 in a game for third place Saturday afternoon in the Green House. Coffeyville made 7-13 of their three pointers.
Seward came out ready to play leading 18-7 and 18-10 after one quarter. SCCC led 20-10 before the Lady Ravens went on a 29-8 run. It was 37-28 Coffeyville at the half. Seward played well early in the second half taking a 47-46 lead before the Lady Ravens 7-0 run to lead 53-47 after three. Coffeyville lead 61-51 with 6:25 left before Seward rallied cutting the lead to 61-57 with 5:30 to play and 63-61 with 3:07 remaining.
Seward shot 41 percent and made 6-14 from three point range. Seward was 19-20 at the free throw line with Coffeyvillle was 14-18. Coffeyville out-rebounded Seward County 31-23.
Avery Marchino was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 20 points. Allie Myers had 15 points and eight rebounds. Kylee Hunt scored 14. Ari Gordon scored 12.
Coffeyville takes over third place in the Jayhawk at 7-3 and stands 12-3 overall. Seward loses at home for the first time this season and falls to 11-4 overall and 6-4 in the KJCCC. Coffeyville wins at Liberal for just the third time but also for the third time in four years. Seward plays at #1 Hutchinson Wednesday night at 5:30 with Saints Shoot-around at 5:15 on 107.5.
