Seward’s all time leader in assists will join her former head coach at Oklahoma State. Former Lady Saint head coach Jim Littell brings Candi Whitaker (Candi White) to be associate head coach at OSU. Whitaker takes the job Littell held in Stillwater until the death of head coach Kurt Budke and Miranda Serna after a November plane crash.

Candi leaves UMKC after six years as head coach and a 77-93 record for the Lady Roos. She built UMKC up to a 22-11 record this season.

Candi White played for Jim Littell at Seward from 1998-2000. White still holds the record for single season assists with 354 in 2000. The next closest is Deolinda Ngulela with 252. White dished 577 assists in her career. Sarah Hurt is next up with 361. White was the point guard on Littell’s first Region 6 championship team in 1999 and helped lead the Lady Saints to a 33-1 record and a conference championship in 2000. White played a Texas Tech for two years.

Oklahoma State is 18-12 with a young team in Littell’s first season as head coach. The Cowgirls play Missouri State in Stillwater Thursday.

Littell was 418-61 from 1991-2005 at SCCC. His teams won nine Jayhawk West titles and one NJCAA championship in 2002. He led two teams to fifth place finishes at the NJCAA Tournament in 1999 and 2005 and went to the quarterfinals in 2004.
