Lady Redskins Defeat Guymon at Home

The Liberal Lady Redskins won  in the Big House Tuesday night against visiting Guymon. Liberal is 5-0 at home this season.

Liberal, ranked #2 in 6A, scuffled during a lot of this game before pulling away late.  LHS jumped to a 9-0 lead before the Lady Tigers took a 12-11 lead. LHS led 11-6 after one quarter.  Liberal led 26-17 before leading 26-19 at the half.  The Lady Red led 41-26 but led 41-31 at the end of three.  Guymon trimmed the Lady Red advantage to 41-35 with 6:30 to play.  The Lady Redskins flexed their muscles late going on a 21-4 run to win handily.

Machia Mullens had 21 points and 11 rebounds.  Whitney Hay scored 12 and made four three pointers.  Katie Horyna added 11.  Guymon’s Meagan Bellar had 24 to pace the Lady Tigers.

Liberal is 14-0 and Guymon is 9-12.  Liberal hosts Dodge City Thursday night at 6 with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.  Guymon hosts Hooker Friday.
