The Liberal Lady Redskins used their running game and depth to run past the Emporia Lady Spartans 60-25 Friday night in the Big House. The game was played with a running clock in the fourth quarter.
Liberal led 9-5 after one quarter. LHS led 31-17 at the half after Kylie Rhine buried a right win three just ahead of the buzzer before halftime. Liberal was dominant in the third quarter out pacing Emporia 24-4 to lead 55-21 after three.
Shamari Lewis led Liberal with 12 points while Kamilah Delgado scored 11. Kylie Rhine hit three 3 pointers and scored nine. Zoe Torres added seven.
Emporia is 0-1 and Liberal is 2-0. The Lady Red opens WAC play with Hays in the Big House Tuesday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
