Lady Red Overwhelms Olathe West Late

The Liberal Lady Redskins scheduled Olathe West for a reason. They wanted to face a strong class 6A school to help prepare them for the postseason.  They faced adversity and still came through with an emphatic 55-37 road win Friday night at Olathe West.
Liberal led 11-6 after one quarter.  Liberal led 25-14 in the second quarter and led 27-22 at halftime.  The Lady Owls jumped out to a 33-28 third quarter lead before LHS responded with a run if 14-0, 23-2, and 27-4.  Liberal led 35-33 after three.  Liberal ran away in the second half.  The Lady Red sank 19-23 free throws and 7 of 16 three pointers.
Katie Horyna scored 13 of her 15 in the first half.  Aubrey Warden and Machia Mullens had 12 a piece.  Bree Horyna had a career high eight.
The Lady Redskins win their 15th straight true road game.  Liberal is 3-0 and host Guymon Tuesday night at 6 with Redskin Pregame at 5:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.  Olathe West is 2-2.
